About Rupeeflo
Rupeeflo is an NRI-focused financial services company solving a problem that sits at the intersection of two massive, underserved opportunities: a global NRI/OCI diaspora sitting on record wealth, and an Indian financial system that still makes it painfully hard for them to invest back home. We’ve built the infrastructure that banks and brokerages plug into for global investor onboarding across 50+ countries, dramatically cutting onboarding timelines from over a month to just hours. This is not a feature bolted onto someone else’s platform; it’s the compliance and identity layer an entire category is being built on. Backed by Rainmatter (Zerodha) and Piper Serica, we’re live with leading institutional partners and already reach markets covering ~60% of the world’s NRI population.
About the role
We’re looking for a Manager – Business Partnerships in building and scaling Rupeeflo’s institutional relationships. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, you’ll own portions of the partnership pipeline, run discovery and stakeholder conversations, support multi-stakeholder deal cycles, and help ensure deals move forward without stalling.
You’ll be working with regulated financial institutions, which means deal cycles are rarely linear, approvals shift, stakeholders change, and requirements evolve mid-cycle. The ability to stay organised, track deal status with precision, and move things forward deliberately is as important as the ability to build relationships. This role is based in Bangalore with regular travel to partners and institutions across Mumbai, GIFT City (Ahmedabad), and beyond.
What you’ll do
Run outbound and pipeline development: Generate opportunity across financial institutions banks, NBFCs, brokerages, and fintech partners through high-volume outbound, sharp discovery, and consistent prospect engagement, building relationships with mid-to-senior stakeholders across business, finance, and operations functions.
Own deal execution on assigned partnerships: Take ownership of end-to-end deal cycles on your assigned accounts from first conversation through negotiation, close, and early account setup without losing momentum or waiting to be pushed forward.
Support larger institutional deals: Work alongside the Head of Partnerships on multi-stakeholder institutional deals, each with its own pace, blockers, and stakeholder map, preparing materials, tracking status, and coordinating across finance, compliance, legal, and operations counterparts to keep things moving.
Maintain pipeline discipline: Build and run a system for knowing exactly where every conversation stands at any given time, what’s progressing, what’s stalled, what’s blocking it, and what needs to happen next. This is a process-heavy function; the ability to hold structure across multiple parallel deals is as important as the ability to build relationships.
Represent Rupeeflo externally: Show up at industry events, partner meetings, and relevant forums as a credible face of the partnerships function building the visibility and relationships that shorten future deal cycles.
Work cross-functionally: Partner with product, technology, and operations to ensure deals that close actually land well smooth onboarding, clean integrations, and a partner relationship set up for the long term.
Feed intelligence back into the business: Surface what you’re hearing in the market, what partners need, where the friction is, where the opportunity is and advocate for it internally with product and strategy teams.
Must-have skills
Partnerships or BD experience: 2–4 years in partnerships, business development, or institutional sales within financial services, fintech, banking, or comparable.
Deal execution: Hands-on experience running deals from prospecting through close, not just sourcing or supporting.
Stakeholder management: Comfortable navigating multi-functional stakeholder environments;finance, compliance, legal, and operations and adapting your approach for each.
Process discipline: Strong pipeline hygiene — you maintain a clear, up-to-date view of every conversation you’re running and know what’s needed to advance each one.
Communication: Clear and confident communicator, written and verbal, with institutional stakeholders and internal teams alike.
Mobility: Willingness to travel regularly to partners and institutions across key financial hubs.
Good to have
Exposure to NRI banking, cross-border payments, or investment products.
Familiarity with the regulatory landscape, FEMA, RBI, SEBI and comfort operating within it.
Understanding of GIFT City and the IFSCA regulatory framework.
An existing network across banks, brokerages, or fintech partnerships.
Prior experience working in or alongside a startup environment.
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in partnerships, BD, or institutional sales within financial services.
